Apple says decision in case against Amazon support dismissing iOS Webkit antitrust case

( March 25, 2025, 23:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Apple told a US appeals court that a decision in another case in favor of Amazon supports the dismissal of claims accusing Apple of monopolizing the smartphone operating systems market. “Just as in Hogan, appellants allege a restraint imposed upon businesses (app developers) in one alleged market, but allege an injury in different, consumer-facing markets (the alleged markets for smartphones and smartphone operating systems). As explained in Apple’s answering brief, the district court here applied the same rule as Hogan, citing the same controlling authority, to find Appellants lacked antitrust injury because the ‘restraint’ and ‘injury’ occurred in ‘distinct markets,’” it said.See attached file. ...
