US DOJ starts task force aimed at removing anticompetitive state, federal laws

( March 27, 2025, 12:11 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Department of Justice's Antitrust Division has started an Anticompetitive Regulations Task Force, to advocate for the removal of anticompetitive state and federal laws and regulations that undermine free market competition and harm consumers, workers and businesses. "The Task Force will surge resources to these efforts and invite public comments to support the Administration’s mission to unwind laws and regulations that hinder business dynamism and make markets less competitive," the DOJ said in a statement. In particular, the DOJ will seek information about laws and regulations that make it more difficult for businesses to compete effectively, especially in markets such as housing, energy, transportation and food and agriculture.Statement follows...
