UK government’s use of AI is threatened by poor-quality data

The parliamentary group is calling for a senior digital officer to be embedded at every UK government department to promote the responsible adoption of AI. Conservative lawmaker Geoffrey Clifton-Brown, chair of the committee, criticized what he called “frankly sclerotic digital architecture” in Britain, and questioned the viability of the government’s plans to promote public-sector use of AI.Statement follows.
