Finnish aid to bus operator now open for comments

( March 26, 2025, 09:21 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Parties interested in Finnish support to Helsinki bus operator, Koiviston Auto, formerly Helsingin Bussiliikenne, have until April 28, 2025 to file comments to the European Commission. In 2019, the EU state aid regulator concluded that support worth more than 54 million euros in favor of Helsingin Bussiliikenne was incompatible aid that needed to be recovered. The authority is now of the preliminary view that there might be economic continuity between the bus operators and that, in case it finds that the advantage granted to the former Helsingin Bussiliikenne is found to be illegal aid, the recovery obligation should be extended to the new business. The notice is attached. The case reference is SA.33846. ...
