Google rolls out generative-AI search engine in EU countries

( March 25, 2025, 23:01 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Google says it has begun to roll out AI Overviews, its search engine service powered by generative AI, in nine European countries today. The service provides enhanced replies based on Google’s AI models, such as Gemini 2.0, and was originally launched in the US in May last year. Later in the year it was available in more than 100 countries, including the UK for users over 18. Deployment in EU countries was delayed to ensure compliance with the EU’s and national digital rules, including on data protection, MLex understands.Statement follows....
