AI could sharply lift South Korea's growth potential, industry group finds

( March 25, 2025, 08:04 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Productivity improvements and job creation resulting from the use of artificial intelligence could sharply lift South Korea’s potential economic growth rate, offsetting some of the impact from the country's shrinking and aging population, according to a research report by the country’s top industry organization. The Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry released findings from its research, showing that the potential growth rate — the maximum growth rate that an economy can achieve without using extraordinary measures — could rise to 1.81 percent on average during the 2024-2040 period, significantly higher than the 1.15 percent estimated before taking into account AI innovation.
