China strengthens data-security, personal-data protection in foreign IP dispute rules

( March 19, 2025, 05:49 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Organizations and individuals in China engaged in foreign intellectual property litigation or under investigation by foreign judicial or law enforcement agencies must adhere to laws on safeguarding state secrets, data security, and personal-information protection when providing evidence or materials abroad, according to new regulations on foreign-related IP disputes from the country's cabinet. Parties must obtain permission from the competent authority if legally required.
