Access Advance bid to escape Roku's US Frand suit factors in Avanci’s UK win

Dolby International and Sun Patent Trust mount a bevy of challenges to Roku’s case. Notably, a jurisdiction argument by co-defendant Access Advance echoes one successfully made in the UK by Avanci, a fellow pool administrator, but a US judge can avoid the issue entirely by granting the defendants’ alternative request for a stay.Patent owners Dolby International and Sun Patent Trust and patent pool Access Advance moved last week to dismiss or at least stay a US lawsuit accusing them of participating in an “opportunistic shakedown” of Roku, a device maker....
