Mead Johnson Nutrition takes Gibraltar tax probe widening to top EU court

( March 24, 2025, 10:11 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Mead Johnson Nutrition has made another attempt to appeal the European Commission's decision to extend the scope of its original state aid probe to re-assess a 2012 tax ruling in favor of the baby-food maker, an appeal published today shows. The scope of the probe was widened after EU judges annulled the watchdog's decision on the measure, which exempted MJN Holdings Gibraltar Limited from income taxation on the royalties received from a Dutch limited partnership of which MJN GibCo was the main shareholder. In 2018, the EU state aid regulator said the program as well as several tax rulings were illegal. In August, the lower General Court declared MJN's appeal inadmissible.  The summary appeal follows.
