Brazil's CADE grants preventive measure against Ubem in music licensing probe

( February 13, 2025, 19:14 GMT | Official Statement) -- The Brazilian competition authority has granted a preventive measure against the Brazilian Union of Music Publishers (Ubem) following a complaint filed by SBT. The measure prohibits Ubem from engaging in collective negotiations on behalf of its member publishers for synchronization rights in audiovisual productions. The authority's decision also bars Ubem from using or imposing price tables for synchronization rights or related contracts, being ordered to refrain from any conduct that promotes uniform commercial behavior among its members.See the full report from the Superintendence in Portuguese....
