Zuckerberg made key Meta privacy call, must be deposed, plaintiffs tell US judge

( March 21, 2025, 17:55 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg, following a privacy settlement with the US Federal Trade Commission, personally decided whether to enable a key privacy protection in the company's Pixel tracker system, plaintiffs told a federal judge in a highly redacted letter seeking an order that Zuckerberg submit to a deposition. While Meta's staff recommended Zuckerberg enabled a privacy feature that was redacted from the letter, "Mr. Zuckerberg did not accept and implement the recommendation. Only Mr. Zuckerberg can answer why he made the decision not to put a stop to Facebook's knowing violation of the privacy rights of millions of Americans," the plaintiffs told US Magistrate Judge Virginia DeMarchi.See attached document....
