The telecom company lacked assessment of the DPO’s independence and also failed to establish and document a direct reporting line for the DPO to the direct management level. After receiving notice, Telenor discontinued its DPO arrangement. Authorities ordered Telenor to determine whether it must appoint a DPO and implement corrective measures.
