BT, IMG, ITV, BBC pay fines to UK CMA over freelance-worker fee collusion

( March 21, 2025, 07:22 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Broadcast and media groups BT, IMG, ITV and the BBC have admitted breaking competition rules through collusion over fees for freelance workers and have paid over 4 million pounds in fines, the Competition and Markets Authority said. Sky also admitted to breaking the law but is exempt from sanctions because it informed enforcers about the behavior. The CMA also said it is closing a separate investigation relating to non-sports television production and broadcasting.
