Regulator's report confirms breaking up supermarkets ineffective, Australian ministers say

In a joint statement published today, Australian Treasurer Jim Chalmers, Assistant Minister for Competition Andrew Leigh and Minister for Agriculture Julie Collins said that while the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission’s inquiry confirms the market dominance of the big supermarkets including Coles Group and Woolworths Group, the 441-page report does not support the claim that breaking up supermarkets will help consumers.
