US export bank approves $4.7 billion to LNG project in Mozambique

( March 20, 2025, 19:40 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex summary: The Export-Import Bank of the US, an independent government agency, approved a $4.7 billion loan for a liquefied natural gas project in northern Mozambique, a move it says will support 16,400 US jobs at 68 companies. The loan, the second for that project, was previously on a four-year pause. Acting President and Chairman Jim Cruse said in a statement the loan will earn $600 million in interest and boost US exports and manufacturing that "would have gone to Chinese and Russian manufacturers."Full statement follows:...
