US PTAB issues discretionary denial of patent challenge in win for Sfara

( December 13, 2024, 10:10 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A petition for inter partes review by Cambridge Mobile Telematics was denied discretionarily by the US Patent and Trademark Office's Patent Trial and Appeal Board, in view of conflicting claim construction positions taken by Cambridge in parallel district court litigation.  At issue in the dispute is Sfara Inc.'s US Patent No. 8,989,952, which purportedly improves upon existing vehicle crash detection technology by producing fewer false positives.See attached file....
