Agri Stats 'handshake' agreements not limited to specific data points, US DOJ says

( March 19, 2025, 18:16 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Agri Stats and its meat processor customers agreed to participate in an anticompetitive information-sharing conspiracy that is not limited to "specific reports and data points," a US Department of Justice-led coalition told a Minnesota federal judge. "These agreements, which are largely unwritten, informal 'handshake' agreements, are not limited to Agri Stats’ sharing of specific data fields through reports," the DOJ said in response to Agri Stats objecting to US Magistrate Judge John Docherty's denial of its motion to compel a supplemental interrogatory response from the plaintiffs. "Agri Stats wants this case to be limited to specific reports and data points," the response said. "But that is not what Plaintiffs have alleged, which the Court’s decision recognized."See attached file....
