Synopsys' buyout of Ansys gets conditional approval from South Korean regulator

Synopsys must divest Ansys’ power consumption analysis product, PowerArtist, as well as its optical and photonics businesses, to address concerns in these markets. The company is required to submit details of its divestiture plan, such as names of potential buyers, to the KFTC within 60 days from the announcement of remedies, and complete the divesture within six months after the merger is finalized.Synopsys has received conditional approval from South Korea’s competition regulator for its planned acquisition of software company Ansys....
