Japan's Iseto receives guidance from privacy regulator after large-scale breach

( March 19, 2025, 09:40 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Japanese printing and business service provider Iseto received administrative guidance from the data protection agency today, following a ransomware attack that exposed over 3 million customer records on the dark web. These records, entrusted to the company by financial institutions and local governments, include sensitive information such as financial and health data. The Personal Information Protection Commission, or PPC, said the Kyoto-based company failed to implement adequate data security measures, leading to this large-scale data breach.
