Motion to intervene in Google 'Incognito' privacy settlement nixed by US judge

( August 12, 2024, 18:17 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A federal judge overseeing privacy litigation over "Incognito" mode in Google's Chrome browser has blocked a move by a group of 185 individuals who moved to intervene in the case to appeal the judge's certification of a class for injunctive relief only, in part because the motion was not timely. "As an initial matter, the timeliness element of both tests is fatal to this intervention effort. The motion was filed on the eve of the hearing for final approval of the class settlement, and well over a year since the Court denied certification of a damages class in this case," US District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers wrote in denying the motion to intervene.See attached file....
