Tennis players file US antitrust suit against tour organizers, tournament operators

( March 18, 2025, 16:41 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Professional Tennis Players Association and tennis players filed a US antitrust complaint ATP Tour, WTA Tour, International Tennis Federation, and International Tennis Integrity Agency of conspiring to avoid competition amongst themselves and to shut out outside tournaments, affording them complete control over the players’ pay and working conditions. According to the complaint, defendants engage in price-fixing arrangements and other restrictions that limit players’ pay, restrictive scheduling and ranking mandates that lock players into their closed system of tournaments, and restrictive non-competes and other agreements to exclude competition from other professional tennis events.See attached file. ...
