Union Health-Terre Haute hospital deal opposed again by US FTC staff

By Flavia Fortes ( March 17, 2025, 20:13 GMT | Insight) -- The US Federal Trade Commission voted unanimously to allow staff to submit comments to the Indiana Department of Health in opposition to Union Hospital and Terre Haute Regional Hospital's application to merge. It’s the second time the companies are seeking approval for their proposed transaction, which would combine the only two hospitals in Vigo County. The agency says the second application "is effectively not so different than the original" and the analysis in the prior FTC comment on the original application still applies.
