NSO Group says Meta overblows US remedies case

( March 14, 2025, 18:45 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: NSO Group filed its trial brief in a US case brought by Meta Platforms for allegedly using WhatsApp to install spyware on mobile devices, saying Meta is wrong about the remedies it deserves. “Even if the court were to award punitive damages, the amount must be tethered to the amount of compensatory damages, which are at less than $445,000, even according to plaintiffs damages expert. Finally, plaintiffs are not entitled to any injunction, much less the wide-ranging injunction they seek, which goes far beyond the conduct plaintiffs challenged in this suit,” NSO said.
