Live Nation, Ticketmaster must face US DOJ, states' antitrust claims, judge says

( March 14, 2025, 18:08 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Live Nation and Ticketmaster failed to win dismissal of Sherman Act antitrust claims brought by the US Department of Justice and state plaintiffs in the Southern District of New York. The state plaintiffs plausibly alleged antitrust standing because "there is a direct link between Live Nation’s alleged anticompetitive conduct in the primary-ticketing market and consumers’ claimed injury," US District Judge Arun Subramanian said in an order. While the facts may ultimately show a tying claim is foreclosed by US Supreme Court precedent, the plaintiffs meet the bar of alleging a plausible claim at the motion to dismiss stage, he said.See attached file....
