Tencent arbitration clause violates privacy, free-speech rights, WeChat users tell judge

( March 11, 2025, 18:02 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A group of US-based users of Tencent's WeChat super app have told a California state court judge that WeChat's terms of service can't be enforced under state law. "Plaintiffs claim that these provisions give rise to eleven causes of action and are unenforceable under California law. They also claim that the provisions violate their constitutional rights to privacy, free speech, and equal protection and support claims for intrusion, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence, conversion, trespass to chattels, and unjust enrichment," the plaintiffs say.See attached document....
