Google wrong on role of special master, states tell judge in Texas ad-tech case

( March 12, 2025, 14:47 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A court-appointed special master would rule only on pre-trial matters, not on disputes affecting evidence during the trial, Texas and other states said in response to Google's objections to the rule of Special Master David Moran. "Google’s principal response is to assert, in what comes as news to most litigators, that deposition designations and exhibit list objections are trial proceedings, not pretrial matters.  That argument is self-evidently wrong and has no legal support," the states said in a reply brief in Texas federal court.
