CBS denies news distortion in response to US FCC

( March 7, 2025, 23:59 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: CBS Broadcasting Inc. responded to the news distortion complaint filed by the Center for American Rights stemming from its election coverage interview with Kamala Harris, arguing to the US Federal Communications Commission that the government injecting itself into editorial decisions goes against freedom of speech. The company said that its decision to broadcast a portion but not the entirety of an answer to a question is a common editorial practice, and had its intent been to deceive,"it would have made no sense to broadcast different portions of the answer in the two programs within the course of about a day."See attached file....
