Chinese prosecutors log 5,061 public-interest privacy cases in 2024

To prevent personal-data breaches, the top prosecution office has directed local authorities to prioritize the protection of sensitive personal information, such as biometric data, medical-health information, financial accounts and location tracking, when handling public-interest lawsuits, the report said.
