Hong Kong sees first criminal conviction for antitrust obstruction

( February 28, 2025, 11:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Hong Kong's antitrust regulator said it welcomes conviction in the city's first criminal case for non-compliance of its investigatory powers. Jessica Lui was sentenced to imprisonment for two months before a local court for disposing of and concealing documents in breach of the Competition Ordinance, the Competition Commission said in a statement. The regulator said the case originated from a price-fixing probe involving cleansing service companies, where Lui was found to have attempted to delete documents and computer links potentially relevant to the probe. The defendant was granted bail pending her appeal.  The statement is attached....
