Federal Circuit vacates PTAB wireless data patent decision in win for Sisvel

By Nick Robertson ( March 10, 2025, 21:55 GMT | Insight) -- The US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit vacated and remanded a decision by the Patent Trial and Appeal Board today that a Sisvel wireless data transmission patent is anticipated or rendered obvious by prior art. The panel also chided the board for allowing testimony from a witness for Sisvel who didn't meet the board's own definition of a person of skill in the art, but left the door open to his testimony on remand.The Patent Trial and Appeal Board must take a second look at a wireless data transmission patent owned by Sisvel after the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit vacated and remanded the board's cancellation of five claims today....
