EU court rehears Greek scientist’s privacy complaint against EU Commission

( March 10, 2025, 15:02 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A Greek scientist's case against the European Commission's anti-fraud office, or OLAF, was heard at the EU's General Court today. The scientist claims that OLAF violated her privacy rights by publishing a press release that allegedly revealed her identity and spread false allegations. The General Court initially dismissed the case, ruling the claimant wasn’t identifiable, but the Court of Justice overturned that decision and sent the case back to the lower court. The claimant seeks 1.1 million euros in damages. The commission argued OLAF acted lawfully. For today's hearing, the court published a report outlining the arguments.  The report is attached.
