Ofcom to make 1,900MHz band available for UK rail, emergency services

( March 10, 2025, 11:57 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Ofcom, the UK telecom regulator, is proposing to make the 1,900-1,920 megahertz band available for the rail network and emergency services, under a new consultation opened today. This would help reduce delays and make trains run more efficiently, as well as enable emergency services to communicate in hard-to-reach areas, Ofcom says.
