Indian antitrust watchdog's conduct rules to enhance integrity, protect sensitive data

Recognizing the critical need to protect sensitive market data, the proposed rules — Competition Commission of India (Conduct) Rules, 2025 — draw inspiration from best practices in similar organizations. The proposed rules would restrict staff from investing in shares, prohibit retired employees from accepting commercial employment for one year and require commission approval for any part-time work with external organizations, with such approval granted only in exceptional circumstances.
