New Caledonia's Heddelkel given green light to acquire import companies

( March 10, 2025, 04:13 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: New Caledonian private holding company Hiddekel has received unconditional clearance from the French Pacific territory’s mergers watchdog to acquire SARL CSF Import, SARL E-Lumelec and SCI Skye. In a statement, the Autorité de la concurrence de la Nouvelle-Calédonie said its competition analysis had revealed there wouldn’t be any overlap in the operations of the two sides of the deal. However, the same analysis had revealed the existence of an ancillary restriction on the import companies’ operations, through a non-competition clause. However, the ACNC concluded that the clauses didn’t amount to a restriction directly linked to the deal, while warning that the non-compete clause hasn't been cleared. The full statement by the ACNC, in French, follows: ...
