South Korea picks AI-applied industrial R&D projects to spread AI use

( March 10, 2025, 02:27 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The South Korean government has selected 74 artificial intelligence-applied industrial research and development projects to receive financial support as part of the government's initiative to foster the industrial use of AI technology, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy. The ministry said these were among the 881 applications received from 13 industry and energy sectors, including the robotics, semiconductor, display, and renewable energy fields. For instance, one project aims to develop an AI foundation model for predicting the physical properties of compound formulations for use in the chemical, automobile, semiconductor and display industries. The ministry plans to select an additional 30 or more such projects during the first half of the year.The statement, in Korean, is attached....
