Google 'Incognito' plaintiffs ask Ninth Circuit to 'dispose' of privacy intervenors' appeal

( March 7, 2025, 21:13 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A group of plaintiffs who reached a proposed settlement with Google over its collection of user data through "Incognito" private mode on its Chrome browser, asked a federal appeals court to end without oral argument an appeal that the plaintiffs said is blocking a valuable settlement. "Movants’ appeal, however meritless, has had the very real effect of holding up hard-won injunctive relief concessions Google has agreed to make (but has not yet made) for the benefit of injunctive-relief classes of millions of users," the plaintiffs said. "Plaintiffs therefore respectfully ask this Court to summarily dispose of this appeal without oral argument and promptly return the case to the district court for approval of the injunctive-relief settlement that will effect meaningful changes to Google’s privacy practices."See attached document....
