Japan's Futaba Kyushu violated subcontract law, antitrust agency says

( March 7, 2025, 07:37 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Futaba Kyushu, an auto-parts manufacturer located on Kyushu Island, has been found in violation of the Subcontract Act by the Japan Fair Trade Commission. The company compelled 16 subcontractors to store 3,733 metal molds and related items, owned by Futaba or its parent company, Futaba Industries, without compensating them for storage fees. By December, Futaba Kyushu had paid 29 million yen ($20,000) to the affected subcontractors. The company was instructed in the JFTC's corrective recommendation issued today to implement preventive measures.The statement, in Japanese, is attached....
