Japan's Kadoya Sesame Mills receives draft fine, cease order from JFTC, company says

( March 7, 2025, 02:11 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Major Japanese sesame-oil maker Kadoya Sesame Mills said in a stock exchange filing that it received a draft cease-and-desist order along with a draft fine from the Japan Fair Trade Commission on March 6. The Tokyo-based company has been under investigation by the antitrust enforcer for its alleged involvement in a cartel with other major sesame-oil producers since March of last year. Kadoya said that it will carefully review the notice of hearing before deciding on its course of action.
