Jacquemot takes on key telecommunications role for New Caledonia's antitrust watchdog

( March 7, 2025, 01:20 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Amandine Jacquemot has been promoted to a new role in New Caledonia’s antitrust watchdog, which today announced the former competition lawyer would be moved from the legal service of the French Pacific territory’s regulator to the role of “head of the foreshadowing of sectoral regulation of the Competition Authority of New Caledonia.” In a statement, the Autorité de la concurrence de la Nouvelle-Calédonie said Jacquemot’s role would be focusing on telecommunications, based on directions issued by the territorial government calling for the establishment of independent telecommunications regulation. The creation of a framework in this “key sector” of the territory’s economy will contribute to reinforce competition among businesses, to the benefit of consumers, the authority said. The full statement from the Autorité de la concurrence de la Nouvelle-Calédonie, in French, follows: ...
