Live Nation must face US case over alleged ticket sales monopoly, plaintiffs argue

( March 5, 2025, 16:29 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Plaintiffs opposed Live Nation’s motion to dismiss US claims accusing it of illegally monopolizing the primary and secondary markets for ticket sales, arguing that their complaint sufficiently details how it excluded competition in the live music ticketing industry since 2010 through a web of exclusive contracts, economic threats, technological barriers, and coercive restraints. “This damaged consumers […] when defendants directly overcharged them supracompetitive fees with each ticket they purchased. This is a straightforward antitrust theory (and, indeed, Judge Fischer of this district denied summary judgment in a similar case against defendants).
