Planner 5D files replies for judgment in US data-scraping suit against Meta, Princeton

( March 5, 2025, 23:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Planner 5D filed replies in support of its motions for summary judgment in its US lawsuit against Meta Platforms and Princeton University alleging that Princeton illegally obtained some of its files and shared them with Facebook. It argued that the Digital Millennium Copyright Act’s safe harbor does not protect the theft of copyrighted material just because university computers were used to do it. “It does not protect the storage of infringing materials on non-university websites and other universities’ servers. And it does not protect inducements to infringe made in articles and talks.”See attached files....
