Agri Stats motion for depositions in US antitrust suit should be denied, states say

( March 5, 2025, 21:50 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Agri Stats’ motion to compel each plaintiff in a lawsuit brought by the US Department of Justice and a coalition of six states in an antitrust lawsuit alleging anticompetitive information sharing should be denied, the states told the District of Minnesota. "This would be the functional equivalent of deposing litigation counsel at the United States Department of Justice and the Attorney General Offices of each of the six State Plaintiffs," the filing said. Some topics demand testimony about things that Agri Stats does not like — State AGO statements to the press — but that are not relevant to any claim or defense in the case, the states said. All the topics are unreasonably cumulative and duplicative and Agri Stats cannot satisfy the Eighth Circuit requirements for deposing opposing counsel, they said.See attached document...
