EU consults on guidelines for foreign-subsidy rules

( March 5, 2025, 14:30 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Business, governments and investors will have the chance to comment on the EU's regime of policing foreign subsidies as part of a consultation that will produce guidelines on the application of the law. The European Commission announced a call for evidence, closing on April 2, that seeks input on what subsidies create distortions, how positive effects are weighed, and how the rules apply to public procurement. The regulator will draft guidelines and open them for a separate consultation, aiming to have a final document in place in January 2026. The guidelines will also cover cases that fall below notification thresholds. The announcement is attached. ...
