EU draft adequacy decision looks to ease data flows with European patents agency

( March 5, 2025, 12:53 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Innovative companies in the EU should see data transfers for patent applications made simpler after the European Commission today adopted a draft data adequacy decision for the European Patent Organization — the first time it has made such a decision for an international organization rather than a nation. The move will start the process to allow for personal data to flow freely between the EU and the EPO. The draft decision will now be sent to the European Data Protection Board for its opinion.Statement follows. ...
