US DOJ opposes delaying March 24 trial for nurse wage-fixing case

( February 28, 2025, 16:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Department of Justice said it opposes the request by defendant Eduardo Lopez to delay a March 24 jury trial over allegations that he fixed the wages of nurses and then fraudulently concealed the conspiracy. "Defendant recycles the same arguments he used in his prior continuance motions: he cannot proceed to trial on the scheduled date because he is awaiting unspecified documents from third parties," the DOJ wrote in a court filing. "But the reason he does not have those documents is his continued tactical delay in issuing late, overbroad subpoenas to entities and actors of which he has been aware for over five years." See court filing....
