South Korean newspapers call for revisions to AI, copyright laws

( March 5, 2025, 02:08 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: An association representing more than 50 major South Korean newspapers has requested revisions to the AI law and copyright law to ensure their newspaper articles are better protected as copyrighted content. The Korean Association of Newspapers said it has sent a statement of opinion to the parliament and government, requesting revision of the framework act on AI — due to take effect in late January 2026 — to require artificial intelligence businesses to disclose the data used for developing and utilizing AI programs.
