US DOJ urged to move away from Biden era antitrust suits against Big Tech firms

( March 4, 2025, 21:32 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The App Association wrote to the leadership of the US Department of Justice and its Antitrust Division expressing concerns about the agency's continued pursuit of Biden administration antitrust cases that contravene the Trump administration’s efforts to safeguard America’s sovereignty over its economy. In a statement, the advocacy group said the Biden antitrust lawsuits against Google, Apple and Meta have consistently urged US courts to "impose remedies that mirror many of the same principles enshrined in the EU’s DMA, which President Trump has made clear is an improper attempt to dictate how American companies interact with consumers." The body asked the DOJ to shift and advocate for policies that protect US interests in ongoing antitrust cases against American companies and through its advocacy as amici in related civil litigation.See attached document...
