Robot vacuum cleaners' personal-data practices to be inspected by South Korean watchdog

The Personal Information Protection Commission said it will review how the companies collect, use, store and potentially share video and audio information captured by their devices. The initiative comes after local reports raised questions about personal-data handling in Chinese electronic products and services following recent developments surrounding Chinese AI chatbot DeepSeek, with particular attention to market leader Roborock regarding its alleged data-sharing practices with third parties.
