Australian lawmakers express 'very grave concern' over public-sector AI use

( March 4, 2025, 04:30 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: An Australian parliamentary committee reviewing the use of artificial intelligence by public-sector entities has recommended that they “proceed with caution.” The final report of the Joint Committee of Public Accounts and Audit issued four recommendations, highlighting committee members’ “very grave concern” that if the federal government doesn’t implement “effective and coordinated governance frameworks for AI systems” immediately, the technology could outpace the government’s ability to act.
