TikTok algorithm's protection for children needs scrutiny: UK privacy watchdog

The video-sharing platform said its algorithms “operate under strict and comprehensive measures that protect the privacy and safety of teens.” It is already appealing a 2023 fine from the Information Commissioner's Office for its processing of data from users under 13.TikTok’s "recommender" system, which uses algorithms to suggest to users which videos to watch next and then delivers them, needs investigating to ensure it doesn't harm children, the UK privacy watchdog said today....
